It is unknown there will be a government shutdown in 2020 or not, the possibilities are always there. Since it is going to be the last year for the current president Donald Trump, he may push his ambitions to build the famous wall one last time. Whether you support it or not, it’s a well-known fact that it was one of Trump’s campaign promises that failed. Not because of him but because of the opposition he faces.
Since our platform solely focuses on government shutdowns, especially in 2020, we will briefly instruct you on any potential government shutdown.
What are the chances?
Well, given that House and the Congress passed a bill that averts President Donald Trump for declaring a national emergency regarding the wall for two-months, a similar bill may be passed when the budgets are decided for the FY2020. Of course, just like any other year, we will know it all by October 1st, 2020. Till then, it’s very hard to make assumptions at the moment.
Again, if the Congress and House pass another bill similar to the one we have at the moment, it might make things harder for Donald Trump to increase the Homeland Security’s budget for 2021, therefore not causing a government shutdown if all sides agree. Knowing that Trump may not get re-elected, he may just step down on it since there are lots of controversy concerning the wall.
